Experience Matters. Diagnosis Matters. Trust Matters.

There is something you'll probably notice when you visit MDC Automotive Repair.

We enjoy figuring things out.

Give us a vehicle with a difficult problem, an intermittent failure, or a complaint that another shop hasn't been able to resolve, and you've got our attention.

Not because we enjoy making repairs complicated. We enjoy understanding why something failed and determining what it will take to correct it.

We Don't Guess. We Diagnose.

Experience Is More Than Replacing Parts

Our technicians bring decades of hands-on automotive experience to the shop.

We've worked through changing technologies, evolving computer systems, increasingly complicated electrical networks, and transmissions that operate very differently from those we worked on years ago.

But one principle hasn't changed.

Before you can properly repair something, you need to understand what is wrong with it.

A trouble code doesn't automatically identify a failed part.

A transmission that shifts incorrectly doesn't necessarily have an internal transmission failure.

An engine that misfires doesn't automatically need spark plugs or ignition coils.

And a vehicle that won't start doesn't automatically need a starter.

Those are symptoms. They're where the diagnostic process begins.

Our responsibility is to determine what is actually causing them.

We Follow the Evidence

When a vehicle comes into MDC, we begin with the customer's complaint.

What is the vehicle doing? When does it happen? Is the problem constant or intermittent? Has someone already attempted a repair?

Then we test.

That might involve analyzing scan-tool data, checking electrical circuits under load, measuring fuel pressure, evaluating mechanical operation, or examining how different vehicle systems communicate with one another.

Sometimes the answer is straightforward.

Other times, testing leads us through several possibilities before we can identify the cause.

And sometimes a problem simply will not duplicate while the vehicle is in our possession.

When that happens, we believe the customer deserves to know what we tested, what we found, and what remains unproven.

We would rather explain what we don't know than sell a repair we haven't justified.

Your Vehicle. Your Decision.

We believe good automotive repair requires good communication.

When testing identifies a problem, our responsibility is to explain what we've found, what repair we recommend, and what that repair is expected to accomplish.

We discuss the cost and obtain authorization before proceeding.

Sometimes a customer approves the repair.

Sometimes they choose to wait.

Sometimes they decide the repair isn't practical for the vehicle.

Those decisions belong to the customer.

Our responsibility is to provide the information needed to make them.

We diagnose and recommend. You decide.

The Repair Isn't Finished When the Part Is Installed

Finding the problem is important. Correcting it is just as important.

Whenever practical, we verify the repair through appropriate testing, system operation, road testing, and checking for returning faults.

If a vehicle came in with a misfire, we want to know whether that misfire has been corrected.

If a transmission wasn't shifting properly, we want to evaluate its operation after the repair.

If an electrical problem caused a system to stop working, we want to confirm that the system is operating as intended.

Installing a part is an action.

Verifying that the repair corrected the complaint is the result we're working toward.

We're More Than a Transmission Shop

Transmissions have been a major part of our experience for many years, and we continue to diagnose, repair, and rebuild them.

But MDC Automotive Repair is a full-service automotive repair facility.

From engine performance and electrical diagnostics to brakes, steering, suspension, cooling systems, air conditioning, drivetrain repairs, and routine maintenance, our approach remains the same.

We want to understand the problem before recommending the solution.

That applies whether we're diagnosing a complicated computer-controlled transmission or replacing a worn brake component.

The People Behind the Work

There's something we value at MDC that you can't measure with a scan tool.

Our people care about the work.

We enjoy the challenge of a difficult diagnosis. We take pride in a repair done properly. And we appreciate the customers who trust us with their vehicles.

We're not going to tell you every repair is simple, every diagnosis is immediate, or every vehicle can be repaired economically.

Automotive repair doesn't work that way.

But we can tell you what we're committed to:

Doing the testing, explaining the findings, respecting your decisions, and standing behind the work we perform.

That's the MDC Difference

We're not interested in replacing parts just to see whether something works.

We're interested in identifying the cause, recommending the appropriate repair, and verifying the results.

Whether you've been bringing your vehicles to us for years or you're walking through our doors for the first time, that's the standard we're working to uphold.
